Barbados records 59 new COVID-19 cases

A total of 59 new COVID-19 cases, 27 males and 32 females, were recorded from the 298 tests conducted on Sunday, September 4, by laboratories across the island.

Of the positive cases, 12 people were under the age of 18, and 47 were 18 years and older.

There were 60 people in isolation facilities, while 731 were in home isolation.

As at September 4, there were 544 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 757,104 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101,510 COVID-19 cases (45,927 males and 55,583 females).            

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 163,346 (71.5 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully vaccinated individuals is 154,436 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those people who are 12 years and older.
