16 SJPI students receive scholarships

The Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology and its partners continue to empower students in tangible ways.

16 students from the institution were recently awarded scholarships in areas ranging from Diplomas in Motor Vehicular Engineering and Electrical Installation to Massage Therapy.

While delivering welcoming remarks, SJPI Principal Ian Drakes described this as an exciting time for the institution. He believes scholarship opportunities encourage youth to pursue technical and vocational education.

Some of their industry partners include but are not limited to the Barbados National Oil Company Limited and HIPAC. While commending the sponsors for supporting Barbados’ most valuable resources, Mr. Drakes encouraged the students to do their best at all times.
