New Central Bank Governor Dr. Kevin Greenidge had his first official day on the job, after arriving at the Tom Adams Financial Centre this morning.
He’s promising to continue the hard work to maintain the integrity of the island’s financial system.
On arrival at the Bank, he was greeted by several members of staff both outside and inside the building, as well as at the nearby Frank Collymore Hall, some of whom he had known previously from his early days with the Bank as a Research Officer.
Speaking briefly to members of the media after settling in, Dr. Greenidge says he was humbled to be embarking on the new journey, noting that it felt like coming back home in some ways, having spent 17 years there at the start of his economic career.
Dr. Greenidge adds it will also be important to continue to educating the public on all things financial, while also engaging with members of the private sector.
