A 50-year-old British visitor is Barbados’ first road fatality for 2023.
Police have identified him as Malachy Raymond Weedon, who died on the spot in St. James on Saturday night.
According to Police Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss Mr. Weedon was involved in a road traffic collision that happened about 11:20 p.m. on Saturday 7, along Weston, St. James.
The accident involved a motor car owned and driven by a 31-year-old man of Little Bay, St. Lucy and Weedon, who was a guest at Marville Guest House in Weston.
The motor car was traveling along the road in a northerly direction towards Speightstown, and on reaching the area of John Moore Bar, the collision occurred, Inspector Inniss said.
Police are investigating the matter.
