Officials connected to the construction of the new monument for Heroes Square were in the historic City of Bridgetown beginning their preliminary discussions.
The new monument designed by Vincent Jones and Hugh Holder called, ‘We Loyal Sons and Daughters All,’ is slated to begin construction sometime this year.
The team for the site visit included the permanent secretary Hughland Allman; Steve Devonish, the director of the National Heritage Department; fire service representatives and others.
A series of meetings will be held to work out the logistics of the building work as matters like relocation of utility services, cordoning off for safety, traffic flow and other matters have to be taken into account and settled before work begins.
