There is still a sizeable number of doctors in Barbados who are yet to include medicinal cannabis in their care of patients, but that percentage is reducing.
The acting Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority, Senator Shanika Roberts-Odle, says as they continue to push the drug as a viable alternative, they would like patients to join in the fight.
Appearing on Sunday evening’s One-on-One Public Affairs programme on CBC TV8, she noted that one category of medical personnel, which is reportedly on board with medicinal cannabis is the group of doctors and nurses involved with palliative care – looking after people living with serious illnesses – on a daily basis.
