There is a suggestion that Barbados needs to offer more programmes for people interested in studying engineering.
That’s the view of Energy Minister Senator Lisa Cummins, who has challenged the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers (BAPE) to lead the effort in conjunction with other stakeholders.
The Minister made the call on Saturday evening during her address at BAPE’s dinner and awards at the Savannah Hotel, Christ Church.
Senator Cummins says she intends to meet with key players in the sector in the new year to discuss how Barbados can position itself to be a leader in renewable energy and other fields.
