
A man sustained gun shot wounds to his back when he was attacked while travelling in a minibus on Thursday morning.
Police have confirmed that the shooting took place about 7:40 a.m. along Barbarees Hill, St. Michael in the area of the traffic lights at the Eagle Hall junction.
“Police received a report of a shooting where a man came up behind a minibus on its left side while it was stationary at the traffic lights and discharged a number of shots inside the said minibus. One male was injured and he received injury to his back,” a short statement from police on Thursday afternoon said.
The man, yet to be identified by police, was taken for medical treatment by private motor car.
Lawmen are continuing investigations into the shooting and are asking for witnesses or people with information about the matter to come forward.
