Barbadians are being told to brace for very warm conditions from next month, with temperatures set to surpass those for the same period last year.

The only exception is August where no significant change is expected.

According to the latest information from the Barbados Meteorological Services, for the first eleven days of May, peak temperatures at Charnocks, Christ Church have been well above the 30-year average of 30.6 degrees Celsius and hovers around 31.1 degrees Celsius.

For the month of September, predictions suggest peak temperatures in Bridgetown and western parts of the island will range between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius.

As for rainfall, a slow increase in levels is expected from June, which Met officials believe will allow the aquifers in some areas to recharge slowly over the next few months.
