Barbados recorded 437 cases (189 males and 248 females) of COVID-19 from the 1,803 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Sunday, January 30.

The new cases comprise 85 individuals under the age of 18, and 352 others who are 18 years and older.

There were 166 people in isolation facilities and 10,570 others in home isolation.

As at January 30, the number of lives lost to the viral illness moved to 280, following the death of an 84-year-old man at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility.

A total of 44,430 COVID-19 cases (20,607 males and 23,823 females) have been identified by the public health laboratory from the 537,026 tests conducted since February 2020.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 158,668 people (69.5 per cent of the eligible population) have received at least one dose.  The number of fully vaccinated individuals is 147,145 (54.3 per cent of the total population or 64.4 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents people 12 years and older.
