Barbados records 63 new COVID-19

A total of 63 people, 30 males and 33 females, were diagnosed with COVID-19 on Sunday, August 28, from the 288 tests conducted by laboratories across the island.

The cases comprised eight people under the age of 18, and 55 who were 18 years and older.

There were 81 individuals in isolation facilities, while 1,538 were in home isolation.

As at August 28, there were 539 deaths as a result of COVID-19.

The laboratories conducted 753,827 tests since February 2020, and recorded 100,825 COVID-19 cases (45,589 males and 55,236 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 163,183 (71.4 per cent of the eligible population).  

The total number of fully vaccinated individuals is 154,378 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those people who are 12 years and older.
