A total of 653 persons, 359 males and 294 females, tested positive for COVID-19 on February 4. They were identified out of 2,703 tests conducted by Bes-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
The new cases consist of 113 people under the age of 18, and 540 who were 18 years and older.
There are now 169 people in isolation facilities and 12,280 individuals in home isolation. No deaths were recorded and the death toll from the virus remains at 286.
To date, the public health laboratory has carried out 550,098 tests since February 2020 and recorded 47,777 cases (22,175 males and 25,602 females) of COVID-19.
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 158,985 (69.6 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of individuals who are fully vaccinated is 147, 607 (54.5 per cent of total population or 64.7 per cent of the eligible population).
The eligible population represents those people who are 12 years and older.
