ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – Police are investigating the death of a female visitor, whose body was found in a swimming pool at a hotel on the south of the island during the early hours on Sunday.
The police said that they responded to reports of a drowning at the hotel and “preliminary reports suggest that the deceased went swimming in the hotel swimming pool when she encountered difficulties in the water.
This is the fifth death of a visitor to Grenada since February 18 this year. In the first case, police have charged three men with murder after a yacht belonging to two US nationals was hijacked and sailed to the neighbouring island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The bodies of the two foreigners have not yet been found and police believe they were thrown overboard by the men.
Last week, a British couple died on the Grenadine Island of Carriacou as police investigate whether their deaths were due to drowning.
