GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Police say a 35-year-old man is assisting their investigations into the death of a 64-year-old man, who was reportedly attacked by pit bulls on Tuesday at the Topoo village, in Corentyne, East Corentyne- Berbice.
Police said that the body of Latchminen Permaul, alias “Blackboy” was found at a street corner, a short distance from a liquor shop where the man had drinking.
His wife, Sandra Permaul, 61, told police that her husband left home on Monday evening and had left the shop for home but stopped at a street corner.
Police said that it is not exactly clear what transpired after the man stopped at the corner but the wife said someone told her son that his father was found lying on the street corner after he was allegedly attacked by three pit bulls that escaped from a nearby yard.
Police said the body was found in the area and that there were bite marks to both legs, his hip and right hand. The neck of the man was also reportedly torn apart.
