Barbados is working to ensure a seamless transition from fossil fuels to 100% renewable energy by the year 2035.
That’s the word from Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley as she highlighted the strides made in this regard, during a virtual address to the 27th Annual Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
She says the transition is a central pillar to the Government’s economic diversification and industrial development strategy.
Ms. Mottley is optimistic the goal to provide Barbadians with ready access to energy that is affordable, reliable and sustainable presents opportunities for local industry and export growth.
