Thousands of Barbadians will be honoured on Sunday, November 20th, when the second Humanitarian Awards Ceremony comes off at the Kensington Oval at 10:00 a.m.

Over 6000 frontline workers from the public and private sectors, the media and charitable organisations will be honoured by Government for their efforts to ensure the health and well-being of Barbadians at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The invitation-only event will be televised by the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, and streamed on various online platforms.

Four categories of awards will be presented during the hour and a half long ceremony – the Honourary Freedom of Barbados Award, Humanitarian Medals, Humanitarian Lapel Pins and Humanitarian Plaques.

A park and ride system will operate from the following sites: Queen’s College, National Cultural Foundation Headquarters and Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

A pre-checking system will be in place to fast track awardees and their guests into the Oval, giving them the option of being screened on the bus by volunteers, online via TicketLinkz at a link to be sent later or they can opt to be validated at Kensington Oval.

Awardees are reminded that they must walk with the letter from Cabinet Office

Tomorrow’s event will bring the number of Barbadians who have been recognised to approximately 13,000.
