The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 317 new cases of COVID-19 – 138 males and 179 females – on Friday, April 8th. There were a total of 1, 275 tests conducted.
Of that number, 56 are under the age of 18, while 261 are 18 years and older.
The number of people in isolation facilities was 78, while 2,632 were in home isolation.
The public health laboratory has carried out 623,194 tests since February 2020, and recorded 61,953 COVID-19 cases (28,661 males and 33,292 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of individuals with at least one dose is 161, 338 (70.6 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 151,441 (55.9 per cent of the total population or 66.3 per cent of the eligible population).
The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
