381 new COVID-19 cases recorded

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 381 new COVID-19 cases – 170 males and 211 females – on Tuesday, October 19th, out of the 2,331 tests conducted.

The new positives comprise 79 people who are under the age of 18, and 302 who are 18 years and older.

There are 636 people in isolation facilities, and 3,422 in home isolation.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded since March last year stand at 13,934 (6,698 males and 7,236 females).

The public health laboratory has carried out 364,535 tests since February 2020.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of individuals with at least one dose is 145,885 (63.9% of the eligible population). The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 118,537 (43.7% of the total population or 51.9% of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
