534 new COVID-19 cases identified

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 534 new COVID-19 cases (234 males and 300 females) from the 1,541 tests conducted on Wednesday, May 4th.

The cases comprise 130 people under the age of 18, and 404 who are 18 years and older.

There were 104 people in isolation facilities, while 3,243 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has conducted 655,595 tests since February 2020, and recorded 72,282 COVID-19 cases (33,126 males and 39,156 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 161,824 (70.9 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated people is 152,099 (56.1 per cent of the total population or 66.6 per cent of the eligible population).
