Eighty-one people – 41 males and 40 females – tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, December 21st, from the 1,156 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The new cases comprise six people under the age of 18, and 75 who are 18 years and older.

There were 144 people in isolation facilities, while 974 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has carried out 461,703 tests since February last year, and recorded 27,389 cases (13,018 males and 14,371 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 155,383 (68 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 142,528 (52.6 per cent of the total population or 62.4 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those 12 years and older.
