Agri-industrial park to open by year-end

The Dukes Agri-industrial Park should be open by year-end.

This has been revealed by Director of the Centre for Agricultural Research and Innovation (CAGRI) at UWI Cave Hill, Dr. Michele Singh.

The facility in Dukes, St. Thomas is expected to focus on agricultural research and innovation.

Dr. Singh says they’re currently developing a prospectus, and letting people know what services will be housed at the facility, which will be launched between August and December this year.

During the recently concluded Agrofest, CAGRI launched its gallery-grown system.

In what is being described as a significant leap towards sustainable agriculture, the groundbreaking technology enables crops to thrive without land, soil or water.
