A local dog trainer is calling for the creation of laws to mandate training for certain breeds of dogs.
Paul ‘Ras Simba’ Rock was speaking on Mornin’ Barbados, in light of a number of dog attacks in recent days.
Mr. Rock admits he was also a victim of an attack a few weeks ago, which left him with wounds requiring 15 stitches.
While people have been calling for dogs to be registered and licenced, he believes more is needed.
Ras Simba does not believe a ban is feasible as he notes many of the dogs which attack people tend to be the smaller breeds.
He’s offering advice on what people can do if they are ever attacked by a dog.
