Health officials are monitoring yet another church cluster.
Health Minister Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic, says the cluster, one of several being monitored, is responsible for 13 of yesterday’s cases, and others over the past few days.
Minister Bostic says the authorities will be looking at the conduct, location, duration and numbers attending church services going forward, to determine whether they are acceptable within a COVID environment.
He made the comments during last evening’s press conference and COVID-19 Update.
Minister Bostic also revealed that 29 children under the age of 12 are among the 167 Barbadians who tested positive for COVID-19 between the 18th and 26th of August.
They were discovered among 6934 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Minister Bostic says officials have been seeing the impact of the highly transmissible Delta variant in Barbados.
