Fresh calls for another policy shift in relation to Barbados’ travel protocols.

The appeal from the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners, comes on the heels of a statement issued by BAMP yesterday on travel protocols and the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

Acting President, Dr. Adanna Grandison says BAMP wants tougher border surveillance measures introduced to better protect the island from any surge in Omicron cases.

She explains why the window for PCR testing must be reduced from three to two days maximum prior to travel to Barbados.

Dr. Grandison, who is also the Consultant Manager for Home Isolation has been giving an update on that programme.

She says more and more people are being cleared of COVID-19 daily, as for the first time in recent weeks the numbers in home isolation remain under the one thousand mark.
