Barbadians flocking to lavish Old Year’s Night events

Now that the Christmas festivities are dying down, Barbadians are gearing up to flock in droves to Old Year’s Night events.

Some of the signature sights and sounds to close out the year include fireworks and music, but the lavish events are a must for many Barbadians.

CBC News spoke with Tricia Yearwood, promoter of First Light – a Breakfast Cooler Party, that will be at Rockfield St. Lucy.

She is happy to be hosting the event for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, in recent years, Elevate events have been a top pick for Old Year’s Night among the younger demographic.

Promoter Ramon Jordan says this year’s instalment of Elevate Claire de Lune has been rebranded from the familiar suit and tie edition.

He says it will be the ultimate premium drinks experience.
