Barbadians are being encouraged to come out and share their views on the island’s Parliamentary system, when the next town hall meeting of the Parliamentary Reform Commission comes off this Thursday night.
The meeting, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. will be held at the Alexandra School, and may also be viewed live on the Barbados Parliament’s channel: https://youtube.com/@barbadosparliamentchannel .
This Thursday’s session is expected to examine the under-representation of women in both Houses of Parliament, how the Parliamentary system can be made more inclusive of citizens’ voices, and whether its present composition and structure should be maintained.
Speakers for the townhall include former President of the Senate Kerryann Ifill and UWI Cave Hill Lecturer in Government and Politics Dr. Sandra Ochieng’-Springer.
