There is a Significant Dust Haze Advisory in effect for Barbados.
Officials of the Barbados Met Services say the alert, which is valid until 10 tomorrow morning, is forecast to reduce visibility to between 5 and 10km.
This was the view as seen in the Pine, Wildey area as well as across the neighbouring St. George valley today.
Officials tell CBC News hazy conditions are due to a combination of Saharan dust and volcanic smoke from La Palma in the Canary Islands.
This situation is expected to continue to reduce visibility across Barbados and the surrounding marine area over the coming days, fluctuating in intensity.
Met officials have issued a warning to be extremely cautious.
