Jason Holder may get to use his all-rounder skills for the Windies at the ongoing T20 World Cup, as he has been added to the 15-man squad.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC has approved Holder as a replacement for Obed McCoy.

The former T20 skipper, who has played 199 international matches including 27 T20s, has been named as a replacement after McCoy was ruled out due to an injury to his right leg.

Holder was a reserve as per the allowance for teams to travel with extra players in view of COVID-19 quarantine requirements.

The 29 year old will therefore be available for selection against Bangladesh on Friday.

The West Indies have lost both of their opening matches in Group 1, to leave them needing results to go their way if they are to make it into the semi-finals and defend their T20 World Cup title next month.
