The strides made by Barbados to advance women’s rights and gender equality have been acknowledged at a High-Level Women’s Meeting in Chile.
It’s the 65th meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Principal Delegate for Barbados Andrea Simon told the forum Barbados recognizes the importance of gender equality to sustainable development efforts and has sought to strengthen its institutional framework.
She notes Barbados’ actions are supported by legislation.
