‘Minutes can save lives’.
That’s not only the slogan but the take away message being beamed to Barbadians this World Stroke Day.
The day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the serious nature and high rates of stroke, and to talk about ways in which countries can reduce the burden through better public awareness of the risk factors and signs.
Head of the Neurology Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Professor David Corbin stressed timely intervention can stop a stroke from progressing.
He was a guest on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
