After a hiatus last year, the Sagicor Life Incorporated Lighting Ceremony is back.
The event, slated for Monday, November 1st, will however be a virtual one as there will be no ‘flicking of the switch’ from National Heroes Square in Bridgetown to light up the nation.
The Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation in the Pine, St. Michael will be the focal point for the lighting ceremony.
Citizens are invited to join the live countdown at home by turning on their blue and/or yellow bulb, when the lights are flicked on virtually at 6:00 p.m.
Promotions Officer, Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat, Deirdra Gittens says it will be broadcast live on CBC TV8 and 94.7 FM.
She provided further insight on TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
The Sagicor Life Inc. Lighting Ceremony is just a part of a larger programme.
Ms. Gittens says some roundabouts will still be lit.
