The Barbados Meteorological Services say it is closely monitoring the progress of an area of low pressure located near 11N 42W or about 1900km (1180miles) east of Barbados at 2:00 p.m.
However it advises the public there are no watched or warnings in effect for Barbados at this time, and the system is not a depression or tropical storm.
The area of disturbed weather remains disorganized on satellite imagery, but some slow development is possible as the system moves generally west-northwest or northwest at 10 to 15 mph over the next few days.
The BMS says although current model guidance shows some deviation in the track of the system over the next few days, it is still expected that regardless of development, it will track well north of Barbados, posing no direct threat to the island.
