The 124 positives discovered yesterday represent Barbados’ highest recorded number of cases in one day.
Speaking to CBC News about this worrying development, Chief Medical Officer Kenneth George revealed 90 clusters are under investigation.
The Chief Medical Officer says he is concerned about the number of children and unvaccinated Barbadians who are testing positive for COVID-19.
Dr. George says all monitoring methods indicate that COVID-19 is on the rise and again urged Barbadians to get vaccinated, adhere to the protocols, and observe good hygienic practices.
He added that from Friday the Ministry of Health will scale up its community vaccination efforts and asked the public for its cooperation.
