Barbados is expected to gain millions of dollars in direct and indirect revenue when it hosts the 41st Caribbean Travel Marketplace later this year.
It is scheduled for May 9 to 11.
The announcement was made during a virtual meeting this afternoon on the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Facebook page.
Tourism Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill has welcomed the news.
Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association, Renee Coppin is suggesting the island will gain 1.6 million dollars in direct revenue.
She is confident Barbados will pull off the event, despite a traditional problem with capacity for large conferences.
