It’s a partnership with the potential to open up more job opportunities, even abroad, for workers under the Barbados Workers’ Union.
The BWU has announced it’s entering into a collaborative effort with the Venezuelan Institute, where union members will be taught Spanish.
Supporting the initiative, BWU General Secretary, Toni Moore says this type of exposure is critical for international negotiations among other areas of educational development.
184 members will take part in the programme titled ‘A Spanish Course on Venezuelan Culture’.
Charge d’ Affaires of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Martha Ortega says the initiative is about more than just learning the language.
She also reveals there’s been growing interest in the programme.
