Another option of COVID-19 vaccines will soon be made available to Barbadians.
On Friday, a shipment of over 70 thousand doses of the Pfizer vaccine is slated to land at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
Acting Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw and other senior officials are expected to be on hand to receive this first tranche of Pfizer vaccines.
It will be a major boost in Barbados’ efforts to get more people vaccinated with roughly 30% of the population fully inoculated to date.
The United Nations Conference for Trade and Development will be a virtual event which will see major global players participating in a series of meetings starting October 3rd.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Dr. Jerome Walcott, who is also Chair of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on COVID-19, says Barbados will be pushing for vaccine equity for developing states when it hosts a virtual UNCTAD 15 in October.
