Barbados has shared its plans of becoming a logistics hub with Belgium’s new Ambassador to the island, Ellen De Geest.
The topic was raised during a courtesy call by the Ambassador on Minister of State in Foreign Trade and Business Development Sandra Husbands, at the International Business Unit’s Baobab Towers, Warrens, St. Michael location.
Minister Husbands welcomed the ambassador to Barbados stating Barbados viewed its relationship with Belgium as one of mutual benefit.
Sharing similar sentiments, the ambassador said she looked forward to enhancing the relations between the two countries.
Minister Husbands and Ambassador De Geest also talked about key areas in which Belgium demonstrated vast expertise from which Barbados could benefit, particularly in marine spatial planning, logistics, research and development, and biotechnology.
