March 7, 2024

Strong defence of Barbados’ relationships with Suriname as the island’s Special Envoy to the South American country, Alphea Wiggins touted the benefits accrued since the inking of an agreement back in 2022.

That agreement, the strategic dialogue and cooperation platform followed the signing of the Brokopondo Agreement signed back in 2018 under the old administration.

Ms. Wiggins in a statement says the relationship between the two CARICOM states has flourished, marked by mutual respect, collaboration and a shared commitment to regional development.

Ms. Wiggins says Suriname Airways’ presence in Barbados symbolises the shared vision for increased collaboration.

The airline has a load capacity of 160 passengers with 12 business class and 148 economy seats.

She also brought some clarity to its cargo-carrying capacity.
