The Barbados Fire Service is concerned about the number of accidents on the roads and on works sites.
Divisional Officer Patrick Edwards called attention to the matter on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
He made the observation as fire personnel will be in the spotlight when the Barbados Fire Service celebrates Fire Service Week, next week.
It runs from Sunday, September 24 to Saturday, September 30 and will be held under the theme: “Celebrating Our Past With Visions to the Future”.
It commences with a church service at the Bethel Methodist Church on Bay Street, Bridgetown.
A planned march pass by a detachment of the Fire Service and its Junior Fire Cadet Programme promises to be a spectacle.
On assessing the Junior Fire Cadet Programme, Mr. Edwards wants to see it producing more fire fighters.
