PM Mottley calls for reforms to long-term funding

Prime Minister Mottley continues to call for reforms of the international financial system.

She made another case for Barbados and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), at the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, as part of the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit in New York.

The summit marks the mid-point of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Barbadian Leader made it clear, calls for reform are not about governance but long-term funding to reduce inequalities and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

President of the World Bank Ajay Banga says he’s working on expanding the vision of the international lending institution.

He says the bank will not only be focusing on poverty and prosperity.
