Barbados through the Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic Bill 2024 is correcting legislative deficiencies identified by the International Maritime Organisation.
Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Ian Gooding-Edghill in moving Debate on the Bill says it will enhance the island’s reputation as an international shipping nation.
He says those involved in shipping have nothing to fear with the legislation.
However, he adds there are several fines for those who do not follow the Act when enacted.
