Prime Minister Mia Mottley has called for the Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU) to look into an issue of obstruction on the boardwalk in Holetown.
The issue was raised by Professor Robin Mahon at the St. James Speaks Townhall Session.
He says it’s a long-standing issue of access and if one is coming from the south they can’t get to the boardwalk because it’s blocked by boulders.
Prime Minister Mottley who was hearing the complaint for the first time says she’s willing to allow the port to purchase equipment to help reclaim the west coast beaches.
The Deputy Director at Coastal Zone Management Antonio Rowe says they are aware of the problem and have been looking for solutions.
