Body of female retrieved from well

April 22, 2024

The body of a female has been retrieved from a well at Carmichael, St. George.

Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police, Victor Brewster, says it could possibly be that of missing woman Sonia Parris.

However, he says they are unable to confirm the identity due to the body’s state of decomposition.

The senior officer says they received a report from a passerby in the area just after 5 p.m. yesterday with officials eventually removing the body around 11:15 p.m.

The Acting Assistant Superintendent has asked anyone with information about the discovery to contact the police.

Meanwhile, Parris’ children, relatives, and colleagues had gathered at the scene, waiting to receive official confirmation on whether it was her body pulled from the well.

After a private meeting with police, several family members wept openly.

Early yesterday, several people and organisations joined a search party for the missing woman who lived at Edey Village, Christ Church and who has not been seen since she left her workplace Wednesday night.

Her car was found partially burnt at Jordans, St. George.
