The issue of a lack of day care facilities for people with Alzheimer’s has again been highlighted.
Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology, Davidson Ishmael has raised the matter with officials of the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs.
Mr. Ishmael believes authorities should consider providing a stipend for those caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s.
In response, Acting Director of the National Assistance Board, Colleen Walcott says work is ongoing on plans to reactivate the day care service at the facility in the Pine.
