Focus was on the youth, as the Barbados Rugby Football Union utilised the schools’ mid-term break to host their “Get Into Rugby Camp”.
The two-day camp at the Garrison Savannah, the home of the BRFU finished yesterday and attracted 16 eager participants.
It was geared towards children between the ages of 5 to 18 and was facilitated by the elite players and coaches of the Barbados Women’s National Rugby Team.
The programme is part and parcel of a children-focused grassroots rugby initiative of World Rugby, the sport’s international governing body.
The participants enjoyed the sessions and expressed a keen interest in learning more about rugby.
The next camp is set for April 10-22 at the Garrison Savannah.
