A call has been made for the introduction of set fines for certain traffic offences.
It’s come from Director of Complaints with the Alliance Owners of Public Transport, Craig Banfield.
Mr. Banfield, an Attorney at Law, says he’s observed many of the people attending traffic court are public service vehicle operators.
He believes his suggestion will help ease the heavy congestion in the traffic court system.
Mr. Banfield is also in support of the use of a demerit point system, which could result in a person’s licence eventually being suspended.
