Barbados and other Caribbean states have been encouraged to continue to further empower women.
Assistant Secretary General, Human and Social Development at the CARICOM Secretariat Alison Drayton, says doing so will contribute to the advancement of Caribbean societies as a whole.
She says equality should not solely be a buzzword for countries.
Ms. Drayton was addressing a Ministerial Forum on Gender Empowerment and Equality in Guyana.
Meanwhile, Guyana’s President Dr. Irfaan Ali has zeroed in on developments in Gaza and the lives lost, particularly women and children.
While stressing there’s no justification for terrorism, he says there’s no space globally for any leader who presides over the suffering of men, women and children.
