Civil aviation authority overdue

November 23, 2022

As Barbados works towards creating a civil aviation authority, the country is being told the move will not only result in compliance with international protocols, but it will also bring some much needed upgrades for local civil aviation operations.

That was the submission from Energy Minister, Senator Lisa Cummins, as she led off this morning’s Upper House debate on the Civil Aviation Bill 2022.

Senator Cummins who is a former Tourism Minister, explained the transition was long overdue, and it will help the county remain internationally competitive while meeting the benchmarks outlined by the international civil aviation authority.
