Public Relations Officer of the Sanitation Service Authority Carl Padmore has confirmed that at least two community skips have been removed from Eden Lodge, St. Michael.
The skips, which were in place for several years, have since been replaced by signs warning of penalties for illegal dumping in those locations.
In an interview with CBC News, Mr. Padmore explained the reason for the removal of the skips.
Touching on a separate issue, he also addressed concerns related to coconut vendors around the island.
The SSA PRO says removal of the coconut shells is a major problem they are seeking to tackle with the vendors’ help.
