Complaints of indiscipline by some PSVs

The Alliance of Owners of Public Transport in the face of complaints of indiscipline by some public service vehicles, PSV operators want owners to ensure proper vetting systems are in place when it comes to hiring.

Several issues were raised as Barbadians shared concerns with officials of AOPT who were guests on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.

Kelvin Scott, the man in charge of AOPT’s Transport Energy Project says there’s a subculture of thinking along with patterns that have been exhibited over the years.

Director of Complaints and Legal Affairs at AOPT, Craig Banfield says loud and lewd music on PSVs remains a worry for commuters.

The issue is one it continues to receive numerous complaints for on a regular basis.

Operators and conductors stopping for alcoholic beverages were also raised.

The embrace of technology has been touted as a method to address issues.
